The mooting competition was in two rounds. In round one students were to submit a skeleton argument of no more than 1,500 words addressing a point of contract law. The authors of the best four skeleton arguments were then selected to take part in round two, a final which tested the students’ skills of oral and written advocacy in a moot which took place on 25 March 2026 at the Civil Justice Centre in Manchester.
The organising committee was highly impressed with the quality and standard of written work in round one of the competition, with the four finalists producing work of exceptional quality.
The 2026 BICBA Mooting Competition finalists are Niamh Browne; Kai Corre; Min Yee Toh; and Rounak Islam.
The organising committee is extremely grateful to the Northern Business and Property Bar Association for sponsoring the competition, the HHJ Pearce for judging the competition and to all the court staff at the Manchester Civil Justice Centre for facilitating to competition.
The runner up and winner of the BICBA mooting competition will be announced at the Annual Forum on Thursday 26 March.
