Jamie specialises in commercial litigation and, in particular, in professional indemnity defence work in relation to the full range of professions including solicitors, accountants, architects and engineers. He handled a wide range of commercial disputes and has extensive experience in the High Court, including Commercial Court, and Supreme Court litigation. Jamie represented Byrne Wallace Solicitors in a claim taken against them by KBC Bank Ireland which ran for 33 days in the High Court and subsequently on appeal to the Supreme Court. In September 2013 Jamie went on secondment to IBRC (In Special Liquidation) where he held the role of Interim Head of Legacy (this role was created to deal with issues that arose out of the financial crisis). Jamie strategically coordinated a number of cases against former executives of Anglo Irish Bank and National Irish Bank. In addition he had an active role in respect of a number of regulatory and criminal investigations arising from legacy issues which arose out of the financial crisis. He is familiar with the procedures of the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation, the Director of Public Prosecutions and regulatory bodies such as the Chartered Accountants Regulatory Board, the Central Bank of Ireland and the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement. Jamie also has experience of international bankruptcy in the US. Jamie is an Accredited Mediator (CEDR) and a member of the Irish Taxation Institute and sits on the Professional Affairs Committee of the Irish Taxation Institute.
